What makes a good collaboration between admins?

When two (or more) admins team up, it can either go really well — or fall apart fast.

So what actually makes a good collaboration between admins?

Is it about clear communication, shared goals, trust, or just finding someone whose workflow matches yours? Have you ever teamed up on a project, event, or even merged communities — and what did you learn from it?

I think clear communication and trust are key. When admins share goals and respect each other’s workflows, things run smoothly. I’ve teamed up before and understanding each other's strengths that really made a difference.
Establishing expectations from the start is the most important thing. It’s essential to identify who is in charge of each task, outline the deadlines and decide how conflicts will be resolved if they eventually occur.

Communication is crucial. If there is a lack of communication between the both of them, there will be problems. I like when everyone understands their roles, so there will be no confusion whatsoever. I’ve worked with people that disappeared for two days without saying anything, it's a big frustration. So, mutual respect is very important.
I have had a pretty bad experience collaborating with another individual to run a forum. We not only had class of ideas regarding content strategy and features, I even ended up getting into debt due to his bad financial decisions. He wanted to have a lot of paid posters in the community but when it make to paying, he ran away. I ended up selling the forum for paying the debt.
I don't think I would collaborate in admin level again but if I have to I will do it only when I know the person in and out.
